Position Overview: Provides primary support to Head Cook, assisting in preparation of meals and general operation of kitchen.
Essential Job Functions:
- Learn working knowledge of Head Cook position.
- Assist in daily preparation of meals.
- Insure proper catering to remote locations.
- Review and follow all standard operating procedures based on HACCP guidelines.
- Assist in serving of USDA meals.
- Assist in properly maintaining equipment.
- Carry out all tasks assigned by Head Cook.
- Assist in cleaning of kitchen, equipment, and serving areas.
- Assist in record keeping.
- Other duties as assigned
Other Job Functions:
- Take over duties of Head Cook in their absence.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
- Food preparation in large quantities for public schools.
- Operation and maintenance of commercial food preparation equipment.
- HAACP sanitary guidelines.
Ability to:
- Maintain good healthy relationship with students.
- Work harmoniously and tactfully with fellow employees.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Present neat and clean appearance.
- Add, subtract and multiply accurately.
Experience:
- Prior experience in quantity cooking and baking desired.
License:
- Food Handler's Card
- Oregon Driver's License
Physical Requirements:
In an eight-hour day, employee may
- Stand/Walk 5-6 Hours
- Drive 1-2 Hours
- Sit 3-4 Hours
- Stoop/Squat/Bend 1-2 Hours
- Lift/Carry 1-2 Hours Up to a weight of 50 lbs
- Climb Stairs Occasionally
- Use hands for repetitive motions Frequently
- Use feet for repetitive movements Frequently
